I don’t know how much I personally agree with that. Certainly, Glasgow has it’s fifth avenue (Buchanan Street), but it also has it’s Bronx It’s certainly no glitzy, glam, make-it-happen city of dreams like the Big Apple.
Glasgow is a pretty poor city, infact, the life expectancy here is lower than in the Gaza strip. We have terrotorial battles, recently I’ve been hearing about alot of Pakistani vs White property/area disputes. We’re all in the same situation – I think we should live in peace. This isn’t to go for everyone; Glasgow, and Scotland in general are places in which racial lines are blurred and ethnicity is disregarded; our culture in terms of racism is far less prominent than other parts of the world i.e. the USA and parts of Asia.

The Queen of Tejano!

Have you ever sat at home watching a movie and wished you had the chance to see this movie run in cinemas again? Go with your friends and feel the full momentum? The film I’d most love to see revisit the cinema for one more showing is 1997’s Selena. If you are a Selena Quintanilla Perez fan, you’ll probably know what I mean. Unless of course, you also happen to be a die-hard Jennifer Lopez hater. But I don’t think anyone can hate Jennifer Lopez’s portrayal of the late Selena in this film!  The music scenes are amazing too, I’d have to get up and dance to “Como la Flor” and “La Carcacha”! I’d love to experience the cinema atmosphere at the end as the song “Dreaming of You” eases in and we see a video montage of remembering Selena, who tragically died at the age of 23 after being shot by her fanclub President, Yolanda Salvidar.
